Move San Diego: A local corporation dedicated to the preservation of San Diego’s environment through the design of sustainable transportation, smart transit and improved infrastructure.

Fast Plan: An international team of rapid transit experts will team with local planners to study our region’s movement patterns and needs. Using global best practices, they designed an integrated approach to enable many San Diego drivers to change to rapid transit.
This concept proposes a unified transportation solution that will help maintain San Diego’s valuable quality of life by reducing traffic, increasing transit use, and making San Diego a more sustainable region by being on the forefront of innovation in transportation and community planning.

Think Together: What began as a community based volunteer effort to ensure kids in the Shalimar neighborhood of Costa Mesa had a safe place to go and learn in the after school hours has become one of the leading and largest non-profit providers of academically oriented outcomes-focused out of school programs in California. It’s committed to helping at risk students close the achievement gap and realize their full potential
These free school sites based after school programs are often referred to as After School Education and Safety Programs. Students enrolled in these programs are required to attend each school day afternoon until 6:00pm. These programs are staffed by trained professionals and local volunteers. The start with a healthy snack and then receive homework help; take part in academic enrichment; and participate in structured physical activity combined with nutrition education.
Programs operate in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods where 50% or more of the students are eligible for free and reduced lunches. Many of the students struggle academically, and may not have the resources at home to allow them to catch up to their peers. Parents are working multiple jobs and they need a safe place for their children to go after school; a place where their students can get the assistance they need in order to reach their full potential.

San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine (SDHIPM): To Prevent and relieve suffering and promote quality of life, at every stage of life, through patient and family care, education, research and advocacy.
Palliative care is the prevention and relief of suffering by a specialized medical team that focuses on managing symptoms, relieving pain, and improving quality of life, whatever the diagnosis. Hospice care is a form of palliative care for patients with a life expectancy of 6 months or less.
Since 1977, SDHIPM is one of the 10 largest not for profit hospices in the nation. Locally they care for 1000 patient’s everyday in their homes or in other facilities.
Care is provided by a specially trained team of healthcare professionals, who work with the patient and the patient’s primary physician, to create a plan of care that meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients, as well as provide emotional support and resources to the patient’s family members.
SDHIPM also offers a children’s program, providing hospice care to seriously ill children, emotional support to children of seriously ill adult loved ones, and the innovative Perinatal Program, for families whose unborn child has been given a life limiting prognosis
SDHIPM exits to make a difference, relieve suffering, restore dignity, comfort people living with a life limiting disease and to teach other medical professionals and organizations how to make a difference in their own communities.

San Diego Canyon Lands (SDCL): An environmental non profit that develops citizen groups that protect and restore San Diego’s urban canyons and runs educational programs that connect children with the outdoors through school and after-school programs. By cleaning up and restoring canyons we are improving water quality in the oceans, preserving habitat for endangered species and giving thousands of children the opportunity to experience nature near their homes.
